Kara Venga Wood

Venga wood, also known as Vengai wood in South India, commonly refers to the wood from the Pterocarpus marsupium tree, also called Indian Kino Tree or Malabar Kino Tree. It is native to India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Sustainability Considerations
As Venga wood comes from slow-growing trees, it is important to manage its harvesting sustainably to avoid overexploitation.Forests where Venga wood is found are often under threat, so certified sustainable sourcing and forest management practices are encouraged to ensure the preservation of the species.
